Bucket 5 Centers of Excellence: Grant II Awarded

On August 1, 2020, U.S. Department of Treasury awarded a new grant, the second one, for the Texas Centers of Excellence. Grant II is for $3.5 million and will end August 31, 2024. These grant funds will be used by the two Texas Centers of Excellence (COE), OneGulf at Texas A&M/Corpus Christi and Subsea Institute at the University of Houston. The COEs will continue their research to improve our understanding of the Gulf of Mexico. Their work will focus on providing science-driven information to decision makers and resource managers working to ensure the environmental, economic, and human health of the Texas Gulf coast. Another core focus is to identify, validate and implement best available and safest technologies and practices for exploration and production of hydrocarbons in the Gulf of Mexico.
